First Anniversary!

Almost lost in all of the excitement of April was the fact that my beautiful wife and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary! Yes, it’s hard to believe it’s only been a year since the big day. Since we’re not quite ready to leave our baby to go out on the town to party, we just stayed at home and Debbie cooked a fabulous dinner. We were brave enough to sample the wedding cake we have been saving in our freezer all year:

Surprisingly, it was still pretty tasty even after a year in the deep freeze. Unfortunately, I don’t think the same can be said for Debbie’s Bouquet, which has been hanging up drying out for the past year:

And since we never did get to eat any of the chocolate peanut butter section of our wedding cake, Debbie got us an anniversary cake from the same bakery (and I replaced her flowers with some new roses):

Finally I want to thank Debbie for being the best wife (and mother!) ever! Thank you for such a great year and for the next 80 to come!

The honeymoon’s over…

…but boy was it great! After a long stress-filled summer following the wedding, we finally managed to escape to Fiji. We left from LAX and after about 10 hours in the air landed in Nadi at 5:30am. We spent the first four nights on Sonaisali Island, then four more nights on Malolo Island. It was a fantastic vacation and the perfect way to relax.

Wedding Week – Friday April 13th

One day to go!  We had the rehearsal at the zoo and then headed over to Ski Beach in Mission Bay for the rehearsal dinner.  A little pizza and beer from Oggis, a beautiful sunset, and then fireworks for those who stuck it out!

Wedding Week – Thursday April 12th

Ok, Thursday was a pretty calm day.  Lunch at the Red Robin with some folks from work so Dale could catch up with everyone, pick up the tuxes, out to La Jolla to catch the 15 foot waves the wind was kicking up, then a little dinner at On The Border.

Wedding Week – Wednesday April 11th

Well, I’ve got a lot to share, so I figured I’d take it one day at a time.  Our first big event of the wedding week was the Padres vs. San Francisco Giants game on Wednesday.   Several friends and family members had late afternoon flights, but everyone made it to the ballpark in time to see the game and boo Barry Bonds when he got up to bat.  And the Padres even managed to win!
