Baby Update – Week 27 – December 17

December 22, 2007

Just a quick post this week to keep everyone up to date.  We have officially entered the third trimester now.  And if the baby would just let Debbie sleep then everything would be great.  We’ve had a busy week here getting ready for our trip to Boston.  Luckily we’re not leaving until Sunday, so we had Friday and Saturday to do all those last minute chores, like sending out cards and presents, cleaning the house and packing!

We did go out last weekend to see the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit at the Natural History Museum.  No pictures since cameras weren’t allowed, but it was a fascinating exhibit.  I wasn’t really sure what to expect since the scrolls really are just little scraps of paper written in a language I don’t know.  But the museum did a really great job putting them in context, both regarding how the scrolls were discovered as well as the religous content.  It’s hard to imagine these things sat in a cave for 2000 years and still very closely match the same Bible we use today.

Speaking of religion, this week’s picture of Debbie is in front of our Hanumas display.  We have a small tree with Dreidels hanging on it as well as a Menorah. (See last week’s post for our Hanukkah celebration.)

We will have more pictures next week from our trip.  Happy Hanumas everyone!

Baby Update – Week 26 – December 9

December 16, 2007

Welcome to the last week of our second trimester. It’s hard to believe we’re already two-thirds of the way through this pregnancy. Everything is going well, although Debbie is having a little trouble sleeping (and we all know how much she loves her sleep!). The baby likes to practice her soccer skills at 3am and it tends to wake Debbie up.

This past weekend we did manage to get out to have some fun, in spite of the fact that it actually rained here in San Diego. We went down to Balboa Park to see the Grinch. They perform it as a live play at the Old Globe theater. It was really well done. They keep most of the basic elements from the original story, but also added in some new songs and dialog. On Sunday Debbie went to a baby shower for her friend Vim. She is actually due one week before Debbie, but she’s moving to Florida this week, so they had to have the shower now. Here is a link to the pictures from the shower (This will also serve as our official week 26 picture):

Finally, our weekend ended with a visit from the Hanson to celebrate Hanukkah. We cooked some latkes, lit the menorah and made panini sandwiches (ok that last one has nothing to do with Hanukkah, it just seemed like a good idea!) Here are the pictures (last ones for this week, I promise!):

Baby Update – Week 25 – December 2

December 2, 2007

Well, the holiday season is off to a roaring start.  We spent most of the day today putting up the Hanamus (Hanukkah + Christmas) decorations (When we weren’t keeping the couch from floating away while watching football…).  Yesterday was my company holiday party, and our friends Stefano and Angela had a pre-party at their house.  As you can tell from the pictures, there are lots of new babies since last year.  Stefano and Angela had Sarafina in February, Mark had his in April (on our wedding day!) but they left him home, The LaGreca’s had Nicholas at the end of October, and the Jordan’s had Peter in November.  And of course we have ours on the way!

Speaking of the baby, everything is going just fine.  Not much new to report in the last week, I think we’re in the zone between morning sickness and being too big to get comfortable.  (Although Debbie is finally too big to get away with sleeping on her tummy anymore!) Here is a picture of Debbie from yesterday for week 25:
